The Angenieux Optimo 16-40mm T2.8 is the wide-end zoom of the Optimo SP system — a workhorse on commercial and narrative work where a fast wide zoom replaces a 3- or 4-prime kit and saves a meaningful amount of lens-swap time on set. The lens is heavy and front-heavy, which means a generic zoom case can let the optical block torque against the PL mount in transit.This case is built specifically for the Optimo 16-40mm body. The CNC-cut foam interior cradles the lens along its full length with dedicated support at the front element ring, the zoom and focus rings, and the PL mount end. The cutout holds the lens with PL mount facing up for fast deployment, and the foam profile prevents the rear element from bearing weight when the lens is removed.Shell is ATA 300 Category 1 with recessed ball-corner latches, automatic pressure-equalization valve, and reinforced soft-grip handles for two-person lifts. Foam is closed-cell polyethylene CNC-cut to the Optimo body profile.Made in our North Hollywood workshop. Lead time 14–21 business days.
