Leica Summilux-C primes are among the most respected cine lenses ever made — T1.4 across the set, matched optical character to the Leica Summicron-C line, and built to a tolerance that justifies their rental premium. A typical Summilux-C kit covers 40, 50, 65, 75, 100, and 135mm, and the kit is heavy enough that a generic case becomes a problem.This case is built on a Pelican 1560 shell with CNC-cut foam profiled for the full six-lens Summilux-C set. Each cutout holds the lens with PL mount facing up, sized to the standardized Leica cine barrel diameter and length. The 1560 base is the industry standard for protected lens transport — IP67 waterproof, ATA 300 Category 1, with automatic pressure-equalization valve and recessed latches.The foam is closed-cell polyethylene CNC-cut to spec — holds the cutouts tight through hundreds of insertion cycles and won't shed onto the Summilux front coating, which is the failure mode that ends Leica lens rentals early.Built in our North Hollywood workshop.
