The SmallHD 1700-Series is the 17-inch HDR-grade monitor used as a director's monitor and DIT reference on commercial and narrative sets — large enough for color decisions, with HDR support that handles modern HDR workflows correctly. The screen and bezel are fragile relative to the size, which is why shipping requires a dedicated case rather than a soft cover.This case is built specifically for the 1700-Series body. The CNC-cut foam interior holds the monitor face-up with deep cutouts that protect the screen face, the bezel-mounted controls, and the V-Mount or Gold-Mount battery plate. The sun hood stores against the screen face in dedicated foam that doesn't compress on the surface.Shell is ATA 300 Category 1 with reinforced corners (the 17-inch panel is the failure point most prone to damage), recessed ball-corner latches, pressure-equalization valve, and reinforced soft-grip handles on both ends for two-person carries.Built in our North Hollywood workshop.
