The original Bausch & Lomb Baltars are vintage cine glass from the 1930s and 40s — used on Citizen Kane, Casablanca, and a long list of black-and-white classics. Zero Optik rehouses them into modern PL-mount cine housings with matched focus gearing and consistent 80mm front diameter, turning a museum-piece lens set into a working modern kit with deliberate vintage character.
This case carries a 4-lens Baltar set in vertical layout. CNC-cut foam profiles each rehoused barrel to the standardized Zero Optik B&L housing dimensions (which are consistent across the Baltar rehouse line). Vertical loading keeps the case footprint compact, which matters for the otherwise heavy 4-lens vintage kit.
Shell is ATA 300 Category 1 with recessed ball-corner latches, pressure-equalization valve, and a soft-grip handle. Foam is closed-cell polyethylene CNC-cut to spec — holds tight tolerance across hundreds of insertion cycles and won't shed particles onto vintage front coatings.
