Custom flight case built around an antique embroidery machine — the period treadle-and-handcrank machine that doesn't take any standard case template. Conservators and prop departments ship these for film and stage work, and the antique cast-iron frame plus the exposed needle bar and bobbin assembly need rigid support that doesn't load against the moving parts.Interior is CNC-cut high-density foam contoured to the specific machine's footprint, with the frame supported front-to-back and the head, needle bar, and bobbin race living in their own clearance pockets. Lid foam is convoluted with a velour-faced contact layer to keep the original finish off any abrasive contact, and the shell is built rigid enough to ride a freight pallet without flexing.Designed and built at 11555 Cantara Street, North Hollywood.
