The ARRI Hi-5 is the current-generation intelligent hand unit — the successor to the WCU-4 — and like any focus-control system it is only as useful as the completeness of the kit that arrives. This case protects it for a fraction of the unit's value.
CNC-cut foam holds the Hi-5 face-protected with the display and focus wheel clear of contact, and gives the radio module, the motors, the cabling, and the marking rings each their own fitted well. That count-at-a-glance layout means an AC or rental desk sees at a glance whether every module and cable made it back before the case is signed in — on a hand unit built around swappable radio modules, one missing part takes the whole system out of service.
An ATA-grade case is also what makes a freight claim winnable — carriers deny damage claims on self-packed equipment, while an ATA case makes the shipment insurable and the claim defensible. Built to order and foamed in North Hollywood by Innerspace Cases; the foam is cut to your exact configuration — tell us your kit and we cut the wells to match.

Fit & shipping FAQ
What fits inside?
As built, the Hi-5 hand unit face-protected in a contoured pocket plus fitted wells for the radio module, motors, cabling, marking rings, and charger.
Can the foam be cut for my exact Hi-5 kit?
Yes — every case is built to order, so the wells follow your setup. Tell us which radio module, how many motors, and any extras on the quote and we CNC-cut to match.
Is the hand unit's display protected?
The Hi-5 seats face-protected against soft, low-abrasion polyethylene with the display and focus wheel relieved, suspended away from the case walls so impact loads never reach the screen.
Do you build this in a Pelican shell?
Yes — we cut Hi-5 interiors for the Pelican 1510, 1550 and 1560 as well as fabricating a custom ATA case. The Pelican versions are the usual choice when the unit flies as carry-on.
What's the lead time, and can you rush it?
Every case is built to order and ships in about 14–21 business days. Rush production is available as a premium by quote when a deadline is tight — tell us your date and we'll price it.
Outfitting a rental inventory or a multi-camera package? We build these as standardized, re-orderable cases with optional engraved IDs. Request a quote or contact the shop at 818-767-3030.

Will this fit my setup?
Tell us what you’re protecting and everything that travels with it. We check it against this build’s foam layout and reply with either a confirmation or the change we’d make. No obligation, and it goes to the people who cut the foam.
Got it — we’re checking your package.
We have your configuration and the exact build you were looking at. You’ll hear back with a fit confirmation or the modification we’d recommend.
My setup is different
Different body, extra accessories, an accessory that has to stay mounted, or dimensions that don’t exist yet. We modify an existing design or engineer a new one.
I need several
Repeatable foam layouts, consistent hardware, replacement foam and reorders against the same drawing. Standard practice for rental houses and studio fleets.
