A custom-foamed SKB iSeries case (3i-2617-12B-E) built around a working ARRI AMIRA package. The AMIRA is ARRI’s documentary and broadcast workhorse — a $40,000-class body that lives on the shoulder and travels hard — so the case earns its keep protecting a build worth many times its price. The CNC-cut foam holds the body in operating configuration: top handle attached, MVF-1 viewfinder in a fitted bay, side bracket, B-mount or Gold-mount batteries, CFast 2.0 media, and the cables and accessories the kit travels with.

Each element gets a contoured well, so an open-case glance confirms the package is complete before load-in — count-at-a-glance check-in and check-out for shooters and rental desks. The SKB iSeries shell is a waterproof, crushproof, resin option — an alternative to a molded ATA build when a lighter, submersible shell suits run-and-gun and travel work.

An ATA-grade case is also what makes a freight claim defensible when a carrier mishandles a shipment. Built to order and foamed in North Hollywood by Innerspace Cases; tell us your AMIRA configuration and we cut the wells to match — or step up to a fully-built profile with a mounted lens and matte box aboard.

Fit & shipping FAQ

What's in the case as built?

The AMIRA body in operating configuration — top handle, MVF-1 viewfinder in a fitted bay, side bracket, B-mount or Gold-mount batteries, CFast 2.0 media, and the kit's cables — each in its own foam well.

Why an SKB shell instead of a molded ATA case?

The SKB iSeries is a waterproof, crushproof resin shell — a lighter, submersible alternative to a plywood ATA build that suits run-and-gun documentary and travel work. Prefer a molded ATA or Pelican shell? We build those too.

Can the foam be cut for a fully built AMIRA?

Yes — built to order. We can lay out the wells for a body-only kit or a fully built profile with a mounted lens, matte box, and follow focus aboard. Tell us how it travels.

Can it check as airline baggage?

The SKB iSeries shell is rated for checked air travel, courier, and freight and seals waterproof — built for the handling whether it flies with the crew or ships ahead.

What's the lead time, and can you rush it?

Every case is built to order and ships in about 14–21 business days. Rush production is available as a premium by quote when a deadline is tight — tell us your date and we'll price it.

Shipping an AMIRA package or a documentary/broadcast fleet? We build these as standardized, re-orderable cases with optional engraved IDs. Request a quote or contact the shop at 818-767-3030.

Will this fit my setup?

Tell us what you’re protecting and everything that travels with it. We check it against this build’s foam layout and reply with either a confirmation or the change we’d make. No obligation, and it goes to the people who cut the foam.

We reply with a real answer, usually same business day.

My setup is different

Different body, extra accessories, an accessory that has to stay mounted, or dimensions that don’t exist yet. We modify an existing design or engineer a new one.

I need several

Repeatable foam layouts, consistent hardware, replacement foam and reorders against the same drawing. Standard practice for rental houses and studio fleets.
