RED's flagship travels dense: an 8K VV body that shoots dual-format, usually moving with plates, media, power, and often a zoom attached. The case has to match how yours is actually built.

About this equipment

The RED V-RAPTOR is the flagship of the DSMC3 line — an 8K full-frame sensor that also shoots 6K S35, in a compact body that crews build out heavily; the V-RAPTOR XL wraps the same sensor in a larger, production-oriented chassis with internal ND. Both ship constantly between rental houses, owner-operators, and sets.

Our V-RAPTOR builds run from a tight body case to fully-built layouts — one catalog build carries the camera with a Core Nano power system and a Fujinon Cabrio zoom mounted. Dense cameras with glass attached are exactly where CNC-cut cavities beat pick-and-pluck.

Transport knowledge

Built-out cameras need built-out foam

A V-RAPTOR with a dovetail, top plate, and zoom is a different object than a bare body. The fully-built catalog layouts exist because that is how the camera actually travels on working jobs.

Media and power ride along

CFexpress media, Core-series packs, and chargers get dedicated cavities in the kit builds. Batteries follow airline lithium rules — cabin, not checked.

ST vs XL

The XL's larger chassis and accessories need their own layout — foam is not interchangeable between the two. Specify your body; XL builds are quoted.

Can the case hold the camera with the lens mounted?

Yes — the fully-built catalog layout carries a V-RAPTOR with a Cabrio zoom attached. For a different lens or build, request a quote.

Do you have XL layouts?

XL builds are handled as quoted projects cut to your configuration — the chassis and accessory set differ enough from the ST that we engineer them per package.

How long does an in-catalog V-RAPTOR case take?

Made to order, typically shipping in 7–10 business days. Fully-built and XL layouts are quoted per project.
