Equipment Protection Guide

SmallHD Vision 17 Cases

The Vision 17 is the HDR reference crews actually carry to set — which means it takes more trips, and more risk, than the monitor that stays in the suite.

About this equipment

The SmallHD Vision 17 is a 17-inch, 4K HDR production monitor — bright enough for exteriors, accurate enough for critical viewing, and sized to travel daily between stage, location, and cart. That daily movement is the hazard: it is handled more often than larger village monitors, by more people, in more hurry.

Our Vision 17 builds hold the panel face-inward in its own cavity, with layouts available that carry the shade, power, and mounting hardware alongside. Pelican-shell builds keep it fleet-compatible with the rest of a standard camera-truck pack.

The daily-mover risk profile

Monitors that travel every day fail from accumulation: a hundred small knocks rather than one big drop. Hard-shell, dedicated-cavity casing is the difference between a panel that lasts a season and one that lasts years.

Kit it as one station

The accessories build carries shade, power supply, and cabling with the monitor — the Vision 17 station arrives ready rather than assembled from three bags.

Temperature swings and HDR panels

Loading from a cold truck into a warm stage invites condensation. Keep desiccant in the case and give the monitor minutes to acclimate before power.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Vision 17 case fit in a standard camera truck pack?

The Pelican-shell builds stack and strap like the rest of a standard pack — that is why we build them in fleet-common shells.

Can the case carry the sun shade and power?

Yes — the accessories layout is one of the catalog builds below. For a different kit, request a quote.

How long does an in-catalog Vision 17 case take?

Made to order, typically shipping in 14–21 business days. New layouts are quoted per project.
