The GL Optics Voigtländer 36-82mm is a specialty cine zoom — a rehousing of the vintage Voigtländer zoom into a modern PL-mount cine housing with matched gearing. The 36-82mm range is unusual; the original Voigtländer zoom is from the 1970s and was never made in large quantities, which makes a properly rehoused unit a specialty rental item.
This case is built on a Pelican Air 1507 base with CNC-cut foam profiled to the GL Optics Voigtländer 36-82mm body. The cutout cradles the lens along its full length with dedicated support at the front element, the zoom and focus rings, and the PL mount end. The lens loads with mount facing up for fast deployment.
The Pelican Air 1507 shell is the lightweight rotomolded Pelican — same waterproof and crush-resistant standards as the standard 1500-series but roughly 40% lighter for airline carry-on. ATA 300 Category 1 with pressure-equalization valve and recessed latches.
