How to measure
The number that decides everything is the widest point of the barrel — on most cinema primes that is the focus ring, not the front element and not the PL mount.
Put a caliper or a tape across the barrel at its fattest point and read the diameter. If it lands within about 8 mm of a hole size, send it to us rather than guessing — that is inside our clearance, and we would rather measure it than have you find out on set.
Why universal
A custom-cut case stays dedicated to that lens set. Universal Vertical stays useful as your inventory changes.
Your lenses change. The case does not.
Wells are cut to a standard diameter, not to a specific barrel. A 5″ case that carried Cooke S4/i last year takes Master Anamorphics this year without a new interior.
Three sizes instead of thirty configurations
A rental house standardising on three hole sizes stops maintaining a separate case spec for every lens family it owns — and stops re-ordering a bespoke case every time it buys new glass.
Re-orderable, not bespoke
Every configuration is a stock number. Reorder the same case in a year and it is identical, so a fleet stays consistent as it grows.
Two products, two jobs
Innerspace builds both. Custom-cut is maximum dedicated fit and organisation for a named kit. Universal is standardised, reusable infrastructure for changing inventories and fleets.
Inside every case
Finger grips at 45°
Cut on opposing diagonals at every well, so a lens comes out with two fingers rather than a fingernail.
1-3/4″ hard riser
Cups the PL mount and lifts the lens so it seats against the base foam rather than resting on the mount.
Soft levelling circles
Stack under shorter lenses so a mixed set all makes contact with the lid foam.
Square accessory pocket
On the 5- and 7-lens configurations, the spare position takes a lens support, filters, shims or paperwork.
1-5/8″ desiccant holder
Cut into the corner of every insert. Fill it before a humid location or a long container leg.
Full-foam ELE lid
No cut-outs. Even pressure across every lens, so nothing shifts when the case is on its back.
2″ to the wall, 1-1/2 between
The spacing standard the shop cuts to. Enough foam between the glass and an impact to matter.

Why not a moulded case?
Both protect a lens. They are built around different problems.
We are not claiming a moulded case fails. We are saying it is not built to carry twenty thousand dollars of glass upright, on a truck, every week, for a decade.

Questions
How do I measure my cinema lens?
Put a caliper or tape across the barrel at its widest point and read the diameter. On most cinema primes that is the focus ring. Compare the number to our three hole sizes: 3-1/2 inch (89 mm), 4-1/4 inch (108 mm) and 5 inch (127 mm).
What part of the lens should I measure?
The widest point of the barrel — usually the focus or iris gear. Not the front element, and not the PL mount. The mount is narrower than the barrel on almost every cinema prime, so measuring there will send you to a case that is too small.
What if my measurement falls between two sizes?
Send it to us. Our wells run roughly 8 to 15 mm larger than the barrel they are cut for, so anything landing within about 8 mm of a size is inside our clearance and we would rather measure it than guess. Use the quote link and we will confirm the same day.
Can different lens brands share the same case?
Yes — that is the point of the system. The wells are cut to a diameter, not to a manufacturer. A 5 inch case takes Cooke S7/i, ARRI Master Anamorphic and Tokina Cinema Vista in the same six wells.
Can different lens families fit in the same case?
Yes, as long as every barrel clears the hole size and no lens is longer than 11-1/2 inches. Mixed sets are normal; the soft levelling circles bring shorter lenses up so the lid foam makes contact on all of them.
What is the maximum lens length?
Every case is 14 inches tall inside, which clears any prime up to about 11-1/2 inches long with the riser fitted. Longer glass needs a cut-to-fit interior or a horizontal case.
How is the lens supported inside the foam?
A 1-3/4 inch hard riser sits under each lens and cups the PL mount, so the lens is carried on the mount shoulder rather than resting on its barrel. Soft foam circles stack underneath to level a mixed set.
What does “cut to fit” mean?
The lens needs a well larger than our 5 inch standard, so the interior is cut to your specific set rather than taken from stock. That runs 14 to 21 business days and the quote includes a dimensioned drawing before anything is cut.
Why does my lens need a horizontal case?
Zooms, box lenses and broadcast ENG glass are long and heavy relative to their diameter, and travel better lying down in a rectangular interior than standing in a round well. The vertical system is a prime-lens product; we would rather say so here than after a quote.
Are these cases stocked?
Stock configurations are pre-made in black and held on the shelf. Cut-to-fit and custom builds are made to order.
How quickly do stock cases ship?
Stock configurations ship the same business day when ordered before the carrier cut-off. Cut-to-fit and custom builds run 14 to 21 business days.
Can I buy replacement foam later?
Yes. The insert is a separate part from the case, so a well can be replaced or a different hole size fitted into a case you already own. Ask for the configuration number on your case.
Can you verify my lens dimensions?
Yes, and we would rather you asked. Every hole in this table comes from our own cut files, the manufacturer's drawing, or a dealer figure we are willing to stand behind. If yours is not listed, send the model and we will put a caliper on it.
Can a rental house standardise multiple lens sets on these cases?
