The Studio Display XDR replaced the Pro Display XDR on 3 March 2026, and it is the 27-inch panel finishing rooms are buying now: 5K mini-LED, Thunderbolt 5, from $3,299, and 18.7 lb on the tilt- and height-adjustable stand it ships with. Apple does not make a case for it. The retail box is one-trip cardboard. This is the transport case — a built-to-order ATA 300 Category I fabricated flight case with CNC-cut foam that seats the display face-in on a contoured pad, holds the stand in its own cavity, and gives the power brick and Thunderbolt 5 cable separate wells so nothing rides loose against the glass.

The XDR is not the same fit as a Studio Display. On the height-adjustable stand it runs 8.4″ deep; a 2026 Studio Display on the tilt stand is closer to 6.6″. One “27-inch class” cavity does not cover both, so the foam is cut to the stand you select above. VESA mount adapter units travel flat with the adapter plate in its own pocket. Nano-texture glass gets a brushed screen-interface liner on the face pad — same exterior case, different contact surface. Display not included.

The case is standardized and re-orderable, so a fleet of ten lands with ten identical layouts, engraved IDs optional. Which stand should I pick?

Pick the stand your display is on. Studio Display XDR ships on the tilt- and height-adjustable stand by default, so that is the default here. If you ordered the tilt-only stand or the VESA mount adapter, select it and the cavity depth and rear profile change to match. The foam is cut to the selected stand, so a case cut for one will not seat the other correctly.

Does nano-texture glass need anything different?

Select nano-texture glass and the face pad gets a brushed screen-interface liner instead of bare polyethylene, so the etched surface never contacts the foam directly. The exterior case, dimensions, and price are the same. Keep Apple’s polishing cloth in the accessory well and you have a second barrier for repeated shipping.

Will my Pro Display XDR fit this case?

No. The Pro Display XDR is a 32-inch panel with a different chassis and Pro Stand. We still build for it as a named legacy product — see the Pro Display XDR 32-inch transport case.

Can the Mac Studio ride in the same case?

Not in this one — the computer never shares a cavity with the panel. Can it check as airline baggage or ship by courier?

The shell is built to ATA 300 Category I for checked air travel, courier, and freight. Like the Studio Display build it sits just over the typical 62-inch linear checked-bag limit, so most clients fly it as oversized checked baggage or send it by courier. Either way the case is rated for the handling.

What’s the lead time, and can you rush it?

Every case is built to order and ships in about 14–21 business days. Rush production is available as a premium by quote when a deadline is tight — tell us your date and we’ll price it.

Want a lighter molded alternative?

This is a fabricated case. The other route is a molded shell.

A fabricated ATA case is built to whatever dimensions the job needs and takes freight abuse indefinitely. If your monitor is small enough for a stock shell and it flies with a person rather than shipping on a pallet, a Pelican, Storm, Air or SKB build with CNC-cut foam is lighter, cheaper, and available with an IP67 shell.
