This is the built-to-order Pelican 1637 case with a custom foam insert and tray configured for a Riedel Bolero wireless headset and Bolero 6-key beltpack as a working pair — roughly $3,000–$4,000 of comms gear per position once you count the headset. CNC-cut wells locate the headset on its mounting yoke and the beltpack in its operating orientation, so the comms department pulls a ready-to-deploy unit straight from the case to the operator instead of untangling loose gear.

The foam is relieved at the headset ear cups, microphone boom, and beltpack antenna so nothing rubs the finish, and the lid foam carries shock protection above the headset and beltpack faces. The shell is an ATA-rated Pelican 1637 with recessed latches, a watertight gasket, and an automatic pressure-equalization valve. Because each piece has its own contoured pocket, an open-case glance confirms the position is complete before it ships — the count-at-a-glance discipline rental and broadcast ops rely on.

The freight angle is the same one that makes ATA cases worth it: carriers deny damage claims on electronics packed in soft bags or generic boxes, while a rated hard case makes the shipment insurable and the claim defensible. Foam designed and CNC-cut in North Hollywood by Innerspace Cases, sized to your exact pairing — tell us your headset model and beltpack count and we cut the insert to match.

Fit & shipping FAQ

Is this the insert only, or the complete case?

It’s the complete built-to-order package: the Pelican 1637 shell with a custom CNC-cut foam insert and tray configured for a Riedel Bolero headset and 6-key beltpack. You receive a ready-to-ship case, not a bare foam block.

Can the insert be cut for more beltpacks or a charging dock?

Yes. This build is a single headset-and-beltpack pairing, but the same 1637 shell can carry additional beltpacks or a charge point — tell us the count on your quote and we re-cut the insert, or step up to a larger kit case.

How does it protect the headset and beltpack screen?

The insert relieves foam at the ear cups, mic boom, and beltpack antenna so nothing rubs the finish, seats the beltpack face-protected, and adds lid foam above both faces for shock protection. Each piece has a fitted well so it can’t shift in transit.

Can it fly as checked baggage?

The Pelican 1637 is rated for checked air travel and courier or freight, with a linear dimension around the typical 62-inch checked-bag limit — most crews check it as standard or slightly oversized baggage, and the shell is built for the handling either way.

What’s the lead time, and can you rush it?

Every case is built to order and ships in about 14–21 business days. Rush production is available as a premium by quote when a deadline is tight — tell us your air date and we’ll price it.

Do you build these for a full fleet or multiple kits?

Yes — that’s our specialty. Bolero deployments run from a handful of headset positions to fleets of a hundred across broadcast trucks, stadiums, rental inventory, and houses of worship. We build matching, re-orderable cases with optional engraved IDs and price multi-case runs by quote. Send your loadout and unit count and we’ll spec the run.

Kitting out several operator positions or a rental inventory? We build Bolero comms cases as standardized, re-orderable fleets with optional engraved IDs. Request a fleet quote or contact the shop at 818-767-3030.

A comms department rarely ships just one case — the full beltpack, headset & charger case · the complete Bolero intercom kit case · the laptop & tech-station case.

Will this fit my setup?

Tell us what you’re protecting and everything that travels with it. We check it against this build’s foam layout and reply with either a confirmation or the change we’d make. No obligation, and it goes to the people who cut the foam.

We reply with a real answer, usually same business day.

My setup is different

Different body, extra accessories, an accessory that has to stay mounted, or dimensions that don’t exist yet. We modify an existing design or engineer a new one.

I need several

Repeatable foam layouts, consistent hardware, replacement foam and reorders against the same drawing. Standard practice for rental houses and studio fleets.
