A field-ready Bolero position in a lightweight Pelican Air 1615: built to order to carry 5 beltpacks, 5 spare batteries, 5 chargers, 5 headsets, a Bolero antenna, and the on-set mounting hardware — a Manfrotto Magic Arm 143/244, a Manfrotto SuperClamp, and a TV Mini spigot — plus two accessory compartments. It’s the case for a self-contained five-operator comms deployment that still has to fly and get carried onto a set. Roughly $15,000–$20,000 of gear, packed so one person can move it.

The Pelican Air line brings the same crushproof, watertight ATA protection at meaningfully lighter weight, which matters when a comms position travels by air on every show. CNC-cut foam gives each beltpack, battery, charger, and headset its own contoured well, with fitted pockets for the antenna and the Manfrotto mounting hardware so the whole rig — including the clamp and arm that put the antenna up in the air — travels in one shell. The count-at-a-glance layout means the operator confirms all five positions, the mounting kit, and the antenna are aboard before wheels-up.

Interior 29.59″ × 15.5″ × 9.38″, exterior 32.58″ × 18.4″ × 11.02″, with the custom foam designed and CNC-cut in North Hollywood by Innerspace Cases. And the freight logic holds: carriers deny damage claims on self-packed electronics, while an ATA case makes the shipment insurable. Different beltpack count, a second antenna, or a matching fleet of these for a touring or rental operation? Tell us your gear and we spec it.

Fit & shipping FAQ

What fits inside?

As built: 5 Bolero beltpacks, 5 spare batteries, 5 chargers, 5 headsets, a Bolero antenna, and the on-set mounting hardware — a Manfrotto Magic Arm 143/244, a SuperClamp, and a TV Mini spigot — with two accessory compartments. A complete five-operator field position, including the rig that puts the antenna up, in one case.

Why the Pelican Air shell?

The Pelican Air 1615 gives the same crushproof, watertight ATA protection as a standard Pelican at noticeably lighter weight — the right trade when a comms position flies on every show and someone has to carry it onto set.

Can the foam be cut for a different beltpack count or a second antenna?

Yes — built to order means the well layout follows your kit. Change the beltpack, battery, or headset count, add a second antenna, or swap the mounting hardware, and we CNC-cut the foam to match. Tell us the loadout on your quote.

Can it check as airline baggage or ship by courier?

The Pelican Air 1615 is rated for checked air travel, courier, and freight, with a linear dimension right around the typical 62-inch checked-bag limit — most crews check it as standard or slightly oversized baggage, and the lighter Air shell helps on weight.

What’s the lead time, and can you rush it?

Every case is built to order and ships in about 14–21 business days. Rush production is available as a premium by quote when a deadline is tight — tell us your air date and we’ll price it.

Do you build these for a full fleet or multiple kits?

Yes — that’s our specialty. Bolero deployments run from a handful of beltpacks to fleets of a hundred across broadcast trucks, stadiums, rental inventory, and houses of worship. We build matching, re-orderable cases with optional engraved IDs and price multi-case runs by quote. Send your loadout and unit count and we’ll spec the run.

Kitting a touring, rental, or multi-crew operation with matching field cases? We build Bolero comms cases as standardized, re-orderable fleets with optional engraved IDs. Request a fleet quote or contact the shop at 818-767-3030.

A comms department rarely ships just one case — the complete Bolero intercom kit case · the 15-beltpack Pelican 1620 case · the 10-beltpack communications case · the laptop & tech-station case.

Will this fit my setup?

Tell us what you’re protecting and everything that travels with it. We check it against this build’s foam layout and reply with either a confirmation or the change we’d make. No obligation, and it goes to the people who cut the foam.

We reply with a real answer, usually same business day.

My setup is different

Different body, extra accessories, an accessory that has to stay mounted, or dimensions that don’t exist yet. We modify an existing design or engineer a new one.

I need several

Repeatable foam layouts, consistent hardware, replacement foam and reorders against the same drawing. Standard practice for rental houses and studio fleets.
